Razer makes third-party computer mice and alternate versions of console controllers….and now they have the authority to certify theaters. The company announced today that, unexpectedly, it just bought THX. The company, founded and formally owned by George Lucas, will continue to operate separately from Razer.
In Razer’s Open-Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) booth, Descent: Underground is turning heads at the influential RESPAWN gathering of game developers in the days leading up to the massive Gamescom tradeshow. Last week, Descent: Underground became the first high-end action title to natively support all of the major desktop VR headsets: OSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift. Razer announced today during Google’s I/O conference, a new micro console that is said to be powered by the recently revealed Android TV. This micro console will be able to stream movies, music, etc., but will be focused on gaming, says Razer. Users will be able to use their Android smartphones or tablets to navigate on the console, this will be done using a mobile app as well as voice control features.
In a joint effort with Razer, MCM London Comicon and European Gaming League plan to host a UK fighting tournament at Excel London.
