2011 has been a fantastic year for gaming, with developers showing that they really know how to take advantage of the PS3 and Xbox 360; dishing out games with both quality and innovation. As the year comes to a close, lots of gaming websites will begin picking their choices for the best game of the year, and while many games will be nominated, very few will actually walk away with this coveted award. Like the title says, I believe that all (well, most) of the games below are very good, and have a chance of being nominated for Game of the Year, and on some web-sites/media, may even win. The PlayStation Store has been updated with a lot of brand new content including PS2 games!
Now just 29.99$ USD on Steam, Valve’s critically acclaimed portal based puzzler is now that much closer to your Steam account.
PressRelease: As per the Research & Analysis division of analyst firm Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment, LLC (FADE), Steam and its Steamworks-enabled titles have generated an estimated $468 million USD in revenues through June 2011.

No one can argue that these last few weeks have been hard on PS3 gamers. There is no word on exactly when the PlayStation Network will be back up, and it sucks that we can’t hop online to play with friends or download the latest games. However sooner or later the PSN will be up and running again. I believe that there are some positive aspects, or a silver lining if you will, to any bad situation. The FBI (The #1 guys you don’t want knocking on your door) are now investigating the PSN outage that has been going on since the 20th. With it being the FBI, this is most likely going to take a while because these guys not only look for the needle in the haystack, but they find it, no matter how long it may take. Well, can you believe this! We had to wait 10 whole days after Valve released Portal 2 to hear about their upcoming DLC. And if that wasn’t harsh enough, it’s going to be free for all platforms (PC, Xbox 360, and PS3)! Well I have to say, Valve needs to get better at this. So if you look at the competition for PC gaming, it’s basically a monopoly. Steam controls everything and Microsoft’s Games for Windows is 2nd, but still far behind the success of Valve’s Steam. And for a long time, a game either comes out on Steam or Games for Windows with Steam having tremendous success.
