NYCC 2017: New York Cop Dressed Up As Pennywise
One of the funnest things about New York Comic Con is seeing people dress up as their favorite characters from various forms of media. At one time, it was called “ridiculous” but now it’s a full-on cultural phenomenon, and in fact, all walks of life do cosplay. And with the recent New York Comic Con, EVERYONE was getting in on the fun…including a cop. That’s right, a New York Police Officer dressed up as a character. But not just any character, Pennywise from It. With @NY_Comic_Con happening, our plainclothes officers had to step up their game. #NYCC #CosplayCops pic.twitter.com/AhRYAZ8ooD — Chief Joseph Fox (@NYPDTransit) October 6, 2017 For those who don’t know, “Plainclothes officers” mean those who aren’t in uniform while on patrol. So going into an event dressed up in cosplay? A perfect way to not draw suspicion. And it worked! And that’s one story I bet the other officers will have a hard time topping.
