Live Action Pokemon series is currently in the works Netflix is developing a live-action Pokemon but sadly it is not a Detective Pikachu sequel. For a budget of $150 Million, it made $433 million at the box office. As Popular as that movie is, it is not going to have a sequel. The Actor from the movie already disconfirmed it. The success of that film though gives Netflix an idea that a live action Pokemon can be feasible. The Live-Action Pokemon I am talking about is a Netflix original. It could be a stand-alone story or an adaptation of the games and Anime.. Original characters might be a better option because the Anime and Game characters don’t age. They stay young forever because of a floating timeline. The Humans are not the star of the Franchise anyway but the Pocket Monsters themselves. A few months ago Nintendo livestreamed a video detailing their Pokemon-related plans for the next year or so. One thing they didn’t mention was when the games would be coming out, but as of now, they’ve filled in that detail. A lot of fans guessed (and hoped) that the next “catch ’em all” release would be a remake of the Sinnoh region (we mean Diamond and Pearl on the DS) and it has been confirmed. The full names are Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, and they’ll contain all the content that was in the 2007 originals, but tweaked to include what Nintendo calls “player-friendly conveniences”(meaning some parts are probably going to be made easier). The remakes of Diamond and Pearl are not being made by Game Freak, but by ILCA, Inc, the studio that created Pokemon Home…however, Junichi Masuda of Game Freak will be supervising the games in a director’s position. This is something I never thought I’d get the chance to report on, but it’s finally really happening. After a wait of over twenty years, we’re finally getting a new Pokemon Snap, called, appropriately, “New Pokemon Snap.” The New Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo Switch system is based on its namesake, which was first released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999. This game will take Trainers on an adventure to unknown islands overflowing with natural sights such as jungles and beaches, where they can research various Pokémon in their natural habitats. They will take photos to make their very own in-game Pokémon Photodex, all while discovering new, never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and behaviors. It’s a huge day for Poke-fans as Pokemon Sword and Shield are officially released onto Nintendo Switch, but if you travel back a few gens, today also marks the release of a tribute album for the Nintendo DS’s Diamond and Pearl games. Time And Space was created by Braxton Burks, a game composer, arranger, and orchestrator from Seattle. Burks has composed tribute albums to Pokemon before, starting with Kanto Symphony, then moving through the mainline series with Johto Legends and Double Team!. This time they’ve created 16 new arrangements based around D&P’s most memorable melodies. “The soundtrack to the games _Pokémon Diamond_ and _Pearl_ marked a large departure from GAME FREAK’s typical music production style, which up to that point had mostly been constrained by the low fidelity instruments of the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance era,” says Burks. “With the Nintendo DS hardware came room for the composers to write music with higher quality synths, electronics, and drums, expanding their palette to encompass a broad range of genres.”

The Twitter account for Team Spaceworld has been on my feed for a while, but I rarely ever see posts from them. They are the team that’s been working on a translation of the leaked 1997 Pokemon Gold & Silver trade show demo, and I’d like to know when it’s done. So when they sent out a tweet late last night calling attention to a charity stream on Twitch called “Pokethon,” and punctuated that tweet with “Be there to witness Pokemon history,” I had to abandon all other plans. Unfortunately, I had no idea what I was watching. The game being played clearly wasn’t the Spaceworld demo. It looked more like a rearranged version of the original game. It’s hard to accept, but it’s been 20 entire years since the Pokemon franchise first emerged Godzilla-like onto US shores. Dismissed as a fad at the time, the brand has endured with both kids and adults to become a cross-generational phenomenon. It’s inevitable, then, that Hollywood would eventually come knocking to create a live-action take on it. The results from these ventures are usually not that great — but the problem is that they keep hiring guys like Michael Bay to make them. Detective Pikachu, for a change, was made by competent hands. It’s not simply a recreation of the game plot or a regurgitation of a TV episode…it’s a completely different take on the Pokemon universe, that justifies its own reason to exist. A “noir” take on Pokemon (with comedic elements) has certainly never been seen before, except in the “Detective Pikachu” 3DS game the movie is based around. Despite the Nintendo Switch being a new console, Nintendo has been bringing some ports from the Wii U onto it. First came Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and later this month we’re getting Pokemon Tournament DX. This port will bring all the arcade characters that were released into Japan via the Arcade version of the game, as well as a new character via Pokemon Sun and Moon in Decidueye. At PAX West, we got our first look at him in action. As you see, he embraces both his Flying and Grass type moveset, while also embracing his archer like appearance with its super move, which is all kinds of cool. Although Niantic had previously suggested that players would get the chance to catch rare monsters at the upcoming Pokemon Go Fest, the developer has now revealed that those Pokemon will be legendaries. The game has been out for more than a year and despite a whole host of new features and Pokemon being added to the game, legendary creatures have so far not been available to catch through legitimate means. With player numbers waning compared to their launch height, it seems sensible for the studio to add the rare monsters into the game in order to capture attention. The method of acquiring a legendary Pokemon will not be easy. It will depend on those attending the festival to succeed in their own unique raid. If they do, the unidentified legendary will start appearing on other random gyms, requiring players to work together in raids to capture their own. E3 2017: New Pokemon Core Game Confirmed For Switch

Last week, a Nintendo Direct occurred and showed off  Pokemon titles for both Nintendo Switch and 3DS. This confused many though, as it stated that a truly “new” Pokemon title wasn’t coming to the Switch yet. However, during Tsunekazu Ishihara of The Pokemon Company came to the Nintendo E3 Spotlight to announce that a “core RPG Pokemon title” is already in the works by developer Game Freak. What does this mean? Well, it means that we’re well and truly getting a core title from the Pokemon franchise on Switch. He notes that the game likely won’t be out for “more than a year”, but the fact that it’s in development will make a lot of Pokemon fans happy. There’s a lot of potential of what a true Pokemon game like the handhelds can be on the Switch, so it’ll be fun to see what Game Freak makes.
