Suicide Squad is a curious film. It was by far one of the most ambitious titles in the DCEU when it released, as it focused on established villains without showing them (more-or-less) fighting the heroes that they are known to clash with. Despite it doing well financially, critics and fan noted a very uneven film, and the limited user of The Joker was harped on by many. The director of the film, David Ayer, has now been attached to a spinoff film featuring Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. Aka The Gotham City Sirens.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the long rumored Harley Quinn spinoff film for the DCEU is in fact going to be Gotham City Sirens. Furthermore, not only will it co-star Margot Robbie, who starred as Harley Quinn in the financial success Suicide Squad, but will be directed by Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer.
When it comes to DC Comics, they have numerous iconic characters. And each of them has a fanbase all their own that want to see more and more stories about them. I’m not talking about just “A-Listers” or heroes, villains, B-Team squads, and more have plenty of fans.
