Last night, at about three in the morning, prolific game creator Hideki Kamiya announced his departure from Platinum, the game studio he made famous. It’s an oddball time to announce such a thing but it’s in tune for the eccentric man, most known as the creator of Bayonetta.
Today, is the official release for the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle for Playstation 4 and Xbox One! This combo pack features two of the most popular videos of decade remastered for 4K resolution at 60 fps. In addition, the release features a special Launch Edition, that includes a Steelbook case and Anniversary Artwork. The artwork is produced by Weapons Van with supervision by both, Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya and SEGA. Platinum Games has revealed they’ve been working for three years on translating the fast-paced, artful games they’re known for into an experience that can be recreated on cell phones. Today they unveiled the fruits of their labor, World of Demons.
Yesterday an interesting tweet appeared on the official account of Platinum Games. It shows the two versions of Bayonetta from the first game and the sequel on top of each other — one has a light blue background, the other has a bright red background. These are also the official colors of the Switch Joy-Cons.
Bayonetta is one of those fan-favorite franchises that people can’t help but love. It’s got a sassy main character, over-the-top action, and is absolutely beautiful to look at. Yet, there has only been two games in the series, and fans are wondering if a third will ever arise. The game started out on Xbox and Playstation, then got moved to the Nintendo Wii U for Bayonetta 2. So if a third game, where would it even go?
The lovable robots and stars of the mega franchise, the Transformers, are returning in a brand new video game that is being developed by Platinum Games. Transformers: Devastation was recently revealed. You can check out the announcement trailer for the game in the player below.
Nintendo has announced that Bayonetta 2 will be released on October 24 on the Wii U.
Although Bayonetta 2 is yet to launch, Platinum Games has already confirmed that they would like to develop further entries in the series. Yusuke Hashimoto, speaking in an interview with CVG, explained how they had enjoyed working with Nintendo on the Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2 and would be willing to work on the franchise in the future if the possibility presented itself.
