Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Is Coming
Recently several companies have attempted to clone the popular Smash Bros series of games by gathering a lot of their characters, putting them in 2D arenas and having them fight. What they’ve found out is what all those Mario clones and kart racer knockoffs did in the 90s: Nintendo’s ideas are deceptively simple, but VERY HARD to beat at their own game (or games). Warner Bros created a Smash knockoff called Multiversus that did very well for itself at first (it was even free to play!), but player numbers soon dropped sharply and WB was forced to pull the game from the market temporarily (it still isn’t back). Before then, developer GameMill gathered together a ton of characters owned by Nickelodeon/Paramount and introduced Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl two years ago. Like Multiversus, it had massive hype, but not a long tail. Meanwhile Smash Ultimate has had no issues retaining a player base to this day, despite no updates in years.
