Movie studio Lionsgate has the rights to a Naruto movie…which is not a recent development. They have actually been trying to get one off the ground since 2015. Every now and then we hear of some movement on the project, but silence afterward. Will this be the time things progress far enough to shooting? We’ll see.
Hard to believe, but has the island nation of Japan been cranking out Naruto cartoons for almost twenty years? Well…BELIEVE IT! (Sorry, it was right there.) There was first the long-running original, then the even longer-running and non-canon Shippuden, and finally the Next Generation adventures of Boruto.
Naruto is the next franchise to come to Fortnite. It is something people never asked for but they know they needed it. Just when I thought seeing Ryu and Chun-li use guns when they can use fireball is weird. Now we see Ninjas use guns. This New trailer shows Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi as the next characters to join this battle Royale Crossover. Weekly Shōnen Jump is hard to negotiate with when it comes to licences so kudos to Epic Games for making a deal like this possible. Capcom never dared to make a Capcom vs Shonen Jump Game because it was licensing nightmare. Not even Nintendo dared to do it with Smash.
If you’re heading to Anime NYC next month, you have Viz to thank for the presence of Naruto and Boruto….more specifically, the women who perform their voices. Maile Flanagan, voice of Naruto, and Amanda Miller, voice of Boruto (and Sailor Jupiter) are coming to the Year Of Naruto panel held by Viz at the con. They will also be at the signing table at various times throughout the weekend of Anime NYC; check your schedule for when they’ll be available.
Sometimes you just gotta push your arms out, tilt your back, and start running like a ninja. But as you’re doing this, what will you wear? Clothing company Coach has solved that problem with a newly announced line of Naruto-themed menswear.
The Hollywood studio Lionsgate is now adapting the long-running manga and anime property Naruto into a live-action film. Michael Gracey will be directing. The announcement was made at Jump Festa today and pre-production artwork was shown (which we don’t officially have yet to show).
