Halo 4 is 343 industries’ first attempt at bringing the Master Chief to life and they do so extremely well. This is hands-down one of the best Halo games of the franchise second only to Halo 2 in my opinion. For the first time in the series we see some major character development of the Master Chief and even more of Cortana.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is the long awaited reboot of the 1994 PC game. For fans of this classic franchise this is a must buy. Beware, this game is not for people who get frustrated easily or for someone looking for an easy game. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is by far one of the most unforgiving games I’ve played since the original was released. If you’re looking for a challenge and you like turn based strategy titles this is the game for you.

CVG reports that a new Splinter Cell title is to be announced soon. The report states that the next chapter of the franchise is rumored to be called Splinter Cell: Retribution. The Ubisoft studio head Jade Raymond has been quoted saying the game will focus on its “root themes.”
”It will have all of the action flick elements for sure, but we’re trying to also explore something a little bit more interesting that is actually one of the themes that’s at the root of the franchise historically, but never has been surfaced so much.”
What does this mean for fans of the franchise? Well Splinter Cell: Conviction was more action orientated. It moved away in large part from the stealth part of the game for more direct combat, but the stealth component was still there. Hopefully this time around the mentioned root themes means a return to the super stealthy gameplay of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Only time will tell. Keep your fingers crossed. [source]
Mass Effect 3 is the epic conclusion to Bioware’s colossal space opera. The game starts off six months after the events of Mass Effect 2. Commander Shepard is on Earth, he’s been grounded by the Alliance high command for destroying a Batarian colony in an attempt to slow the Reaper invasion. The game picks up when the Reapers attack Earth while Commander Shepard is briefing the defense council on the Reapers. You’re thrown right into the mix as the game’s opening sequence servers as the training section. Earth is on fire, and a large galactic fleet is Shepard’s only hope for taking it back from the Reapers. From this point on it’s up to you to decide how to go about saving Earth. The game has you traversing the galaxy in search of war assets which will aide you in the final battle. The lead up to the final battle is quite rewarding, however the ending of the series has taken much criticism from the online community. Many feel that
This article stems from an argument with a friend that took place over Xbox Live. Without giving too much thought about his argument, my friend blindly defended the notion that used games and companies like GameStop are hurting developer’s profits. As a gamer who buys used games occasionally, I felt disappointed that a fellow gamer would be so quick to denounce the used game industry before looking at all the facts.
