SDCC 2017: Shadow Of Mordor Brings Shelob

In the Return of the King film, one of the most terrifying parts of the film was when Frodo had to escape the lair of Shelob the spider. Now, players of Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will also get to face Shelob, but in a different way. For the latest trailer of the game shows a new take on Shelob, as a woman spirit that can grant visions of the future. Her ability gives Talion pause as to whether she should be their ally, as her visions could save the world, but Celebrimbor isn’t so sure. For those who say that this is gratuitous, that Shelob isn’t a woman in any way, know that in the original book, Shelob is described as a spirit that resides in spider form. This is an interpretation of that. Shadow of War will arrive October 10th.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is in a curious position at this years E3, as it was recently delayed 2 months, yet fans still want to know more about it. A demo was shown off at the Microsoft Press Conference yesterday, and now, PC Gamer is reporting that the first DLC for the game has been found out. It’s called the “Blade of Galadriel”, the name of which will trigger many Lord of the Rings fans, and was revealed during the PC games showcase today. The twist is that the DLC features and stars an elf warrior named Altariel, who is ordered to kill Nazgul, as well as anyone who has been corrupted by the Ring of Power. That causes a problem when she meets Tellion. The two apparently will meet, fight, she’ll kill him, and then decide to help him. Potentially. Details are still a little light. Warner Bros. has revealed the first gameplay footage of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The Gameplay Walkthrough introduces viewers to the next generation of the innovative Nemesis System with the addition of Nemesis Fortresses, where players must utilise different strategies to conquer dynamic strongholds and forge their personalised Orc army. In the game players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. The open-world action-adventure game is brought to life through the expansion of the award-winning Nemesis System. The robust personalization from the first game is now applied to the entire world where the environments and characters are all shaped by player actions and decisions, creating a personal world unique to every gameplay experience. Warner Bros. has announced the release of Middle Earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, winner of more than 50 industry awards, including 2015 Game Developers Choice Awards’ Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming at the 2015 D.I.C.E.
