Well, the impossible has finally happened: I can report that there will be a Beetlejuice 2. Warner Bros confirmed during CinemaCon 2023 that they’ve finally greenlit a script and production can begin as early as next month. That only took (looks at watch) 35 years.
The Flash has been in production for years but it has been hostage because of Circumstances like recastings and controversies. Irish West who is The Flash’s love interest was originally going to be played by another actress but it ended with Kiersey Clemons. It will also be the final movie where we will see Ben Affleck as Batman. Michael Keaton‘s Batman will also be in the film.
Ordinarily, when I hear rumors of a long-dead project like Beetlejuice 2 actually getting made, I would be skeptical….but now that we live in a world where Bill And Ted 3 got made AND didn’t suck, I’m willing to be a more open believer.
Tim Burton’s Batman was revolutionary when it was first released in 1989, by virtue of simply being a comic book movie that took its universe seriously. The public perception of comics at the time was that they were childish, goofy and stupid, and previous TV and film adaptations did nothing to dispel that belief. But here was Michael Keaton, dressed in black, the coolest man in the world, growling “AH’M BATMAANNN”….the world would never be the same.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a first in a lot of ways. It’s the first solo movie for new Spider-Man Tom Holland, it’s the first Spider-Man film that ties into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it’s the live action debut of the villain known as Vulture, played by Michael Keaton.
Beetlejuice fans might soon be able to celebrate. It appears the long in-development sequel may finally happening and start filming this year. Also, we got confirmation of a returning star from the original film. Seth Grahame-Smith, who is writing the script for this film, has confirmed that Beetlejuice 2 will mostly like start filming later this year:
