A person with access to an early build of Mass Effect: Andromeda, informally known as Mass Effect 4, has released a video onto YouTube explaining some of the features and story elements in the latest instalment of the franchise.

Details about the next instalment in the Mass Effect series have been incredibly sparse. Bar a few teasers and a mini-documentary dealing with how BioWare is approaching the new game, very little has been revealed about it. What we do know is that the story will be completely separate from the original trilogy, meaning we won’t be seeing Commander Shepard, and that it won’t be called Mass Effect 4.
Despite the fallout from the ending of Mass Effect 3 (see: an ending that made all the choices you made in 95% of the series completely pointless, thus the creators had to “redo” it…), people are really excited for Mass Effect 4. The really interest though may just be about where we are in the Mass Effect universe, and when it takes place. Details have been incredibly scarce, and rumors have been all over the place. But now, we may, MAY, have some insight on what you’ll be doing in the game.

We’ve tried desperately to keep track of everything that went on and cherry pick out the best news from the show. Here’s our picks from the games on show at SDCC.
E3 2014 is about to roll around and once again it is time to get excited about all the games developers and publishers will be showing off beginning 9 June.
Geoff Keighley has revealed via Twitter that EA will be showing off at least six brand new games to the world. The press conference will be streamed live across Twitch, Spike TV and on the official EA website on June 9, allowing those not attending to get a glimpse of the publisher’s upcoming titles. One of those titles is apparently an unannounced “major new game” built using Frostbite 3. That is the same engine used to power Battlefield 4.
