Japanese gamer outlet 4gamer.net released a new interview with Capcom assistant producer Tomoaki Ayano, who had some details on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and when fans might expect it to come out next year. According to Ayano, the game is expected to release “in the second half of next year (2017).”

On Saturday, December 4 at the PlayStation Experience, the debut of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was revealed. The new fighting game was announced for a 2017 release. However, things only escalated from there. On Sunday, December 4, Capcom and Marvel dropped a new gameplay trailer, offering a look at the first in-gameplay footage of the game. Then, an extended gameplay trailer was revealed, which you can check out below. The extended gameplay trailer in fact confirmed two additional characters to the roster in Captain America from Marvel and Morrigan of Capcom’s Darkstalkers series.
As previously reported, rumors surfaced recently hinting that a fourth Marvel vs. Capcom game could become a reality, and the sequel could be announced as soon as PlayStation Experience 2016. Those rumors were true, and Marvel vs. Capcom 4, or rather Marvel vs. Capcom 4, was first announced at the showcase event on Saturday at the PlayStation Experience. However, those rumors first surfaced on the NeoGAF forums. Now, another report persisting that the rumors are true has surfaced on Polygon.
Some rumors have recently picked up steam recently, stemming from a forum post on NeoGAF suggesting that a certain fighting game could become a reality. That fighting game is Marvel vs. Capcom 4. According to the forum post, an announcement on the rumored game could be made as soon as next week at the 2016 PlayStation Experience.
