Originally envisioned as an obscure one-shot villain slated to appear in a solitary episode, Harley Quinn’s trajectory shifted dramatically due to the rapid attachment people developed for her, largely propelled by Arlene Sorkin’s portrayal. This portrayal depicted a woman who succumbed to insanity through love, and many resonated with her, recognizing her as a character trapped in a toxic relationship yet striving to endure it.
Barbie is coming!
Significant interest has been paid to Warner Bros’ Barbie since it was first announced last year. A mere screenshot appeared two months ago and generated major social media buzz. There was a time when news of a Barbie movie would NOT be greeted with unbridled enthusiasm from a crowd of adults, but everyone seemed to get what director Greta Gerwig was going for, and this was BEFORE the trailer made it all clear.
Amsterdam is a movie so huge that the poster has no pictures and faces. Just the name of the actors alone! From the Lead roles to the supporting cast, everyone is an A-lister. Thanks to this promotional tool, I don’t need to enumerate their names. These names can lead a Box office movie on their own, but they are all in the same flick. David O. Russell, The man behind American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook has written and directed this future classic inspired from craziest news story in American history. People are already speculating that Amsterdam is an Oscar contender base from the ensemble alone. Maybe except from Taylor Swift since she starred in some box office bombs as she is more of a singer-songwriter than an actress.
Margot Robbie played a lot of Iconic roles in the film. She gave them all life on screen, from historical figures to Iconic fictional characters. Some of her Memorable parts are Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, Jane from Tarzan, Queen Elizabeth I, Tonya Harding, and now she will be the Doll everyone knows. Margot Robbie is going to play Barbie. The film was originally going to be played by Amy Schumer, but the creative difference made her leave the project. Can you imagine that we almost got this Joke plagiarizing a comedian as Barbie? Mattel and Warner Brothers gave fans a teaser photo of Margot Robbie as the outlasted Jem, The Brats and other fashion dolls that tried to replace her. Aside from Margot Robbie, Months ago they announced that Ryan Gosling will be playing Ken.
Is it time for another Robin Hood movie already? The last one starred Russell Crowe and came out in 2010. Seems a bit too early to hit the recycle button, but this is Sony Pictures we’re talking about, the company that would give us 15 SpiderMen in three years if they could.
