Justice League: Commissioner Gordon Revealed
Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons made his mark on comic book superhero movies with his iconic performance as J. Jonah Jameson in the original Spider-Man movie trilogy. Very soon, he will be back in the comic book movie scene by portraying another beloved, established character in Commissioner Jim Gordon in Justice League. Director Zack Snyder tweeted out the first official image of Simmons as the long-standing Batman ally and character today, which you can check out below. The image is totally in black and white, and it’s darkly lit. But that’s clearly Simmons in costume as Gordon in front of the Bat-signal. Justice League will mark the DCEU debut for Simmons’ new cinematic iteration of Jim Gordon. In the comics and various adaptations, Gordon has long been a trusted ally and friend of the Dark Knight. It will be interesting to see how Justice League will have Gordon addressing Batman’s extreme behavior in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, if at all. One imagines that Gordon would not approve of
