IMDB TV Rebranded To Something Even Weirder
In 2019 Amazon Prime launched a subsection of their subscription streaming service that would offer free ad-supported content. They called this Freedive, but after viewers failed to dive into it, they quickly renamed it with a recognizable brand. Only problem was, their idea of a recognizable brand was the Internet Movie Database, so the service became IMDB TV. If naming a free streaming channel after an encyclopedia for obscure trivia doesn’t make sense to you, you’ll never be as rich as Bezos.
