in Happiness”, COVID is over and people are looking forward to normal living again. It has got to be a medical scientist’s worst nightmare when they try to develop a drug to combat an infectious disease like COVID and the drug ends up causing an infectious disease that is far worse. That’s what happened when the scientists developed a drug called NEXT. Initially, a person who took the drug felt relief. But as time went on they developed a thirst for human blood. Pretty much they became zombies.
Jung Yong-hwa first caught my attention when he played Park Dal-hyang, the 4th swordsman in the Korean version of the Three Musketeers (2014). This actor caught my attention again when he acted as a brain doctor in the 2023 TV series Brain Works. I enjoyed his performances so much that I searched for more series or movies where he had a leading role. Sell Your Haunted House ended up on my watch list because the main character, Oh In-beom, is played by Jung Yong-hwa.
Universal Home Entertainment has announced a street date for the (alleged) final Halloween movie, at least within the original continuity: Halloween Ends.
Halloween Ends is the 3rd and Final film in the current reboot trilogy. It is the 12th film in the franchise, but this timeline only begins with the first film, Halloween (1978), but retconned the other movies that follow and start over again with Halloween (2018). Michael and Laurie killed each other for different timelines, and this is the finale of their showdown. Both of them also became playable characters at the horror multiplayer game Dead By Daylight. Michael is one of the most played killer characters in that game.
My newest interview subject, Sean Clark, is a very unique talent. If you purchased Scream Factory’s massive Halloween Blu-Ray box set a few years ago, you saw the work he did on many featurettes for the movies. If you’re into visiting filming locations for popular movies, you’ve seen his show Horror’s Hallowed Grounds on YouTube. If you’ve attended an autograph convention over the course of the past two decades, the chances are very good that you’ve met several of his clients, or even Sean himself.
Whether we’ll beat down the COVID-19 virus by this time next year is anybody’s guess, but there’s one deadly enemy we’ll apparently always have around: Michael Myers. He was ready to start his slashing spree anew this Halloween, but the state of theaters in this country right now delayed that visit by an entire year, so…he and his machete have gotta wait. (He’ll be fine…he’s got a mask on.)
We’re waist-deep into October and Apex Legends is feeling festive! Their “Fight Or Fright” event launched yesterday and is in progress now.
How does Apex Legends plan to get dressed up this Halloween? With new skins, new cosmetics, and a ghoulish new game mode.
The Halloween franchise has been through more sequels, reboots and retools than any other slasher series, but with 2018’s simply-titled Halloween, everything was ignored save for the first movie. In this version, Laurie Strode never encountered Michael Myers again (and they weren’t related either) but the trauma of the event drove her to bulk up and train, preparing for the day when he might one day escape prison and come for her again. They did meet once more, Laurie defeated him, and thus ended the Halloween story forever.
Last year Popgeeks reviewed a movie called The Cutlass, about a young tourist who disappears into the jungles of Trinidad. Once there, a dangerous madman starts hunting her down….but she knows how to fight back, and the picture was mostly a cat-and-mouse fight (or maybe between two cats). The movie was released to DVD last December.
Halloween is coming back — the store shelves are filling up with candy, the empty store lots are draped with “Spirit Halloween” banners over their label scars, and Michael Myers is stomping around once more, looking for the one person he can’t kill, even though he killed her already several times.
Michael Myers is coming back! A new Halloween movie is due this October, and USA Today published some exclusive screenshots today.
