“The Exorcist: Believer” is a sequel to the 1973 horror hit “The Exorcist,”. A movie which made a horror icon out of then 14-year-old Linda Blair. If you have never watched the original, you have probably seen a picture of her as Possessed Regan in the viral “scary maze” prank game in the early 2000s. The original film earned $428.2 million in the global box office.  It was so terrifying that some people couldn’t even finish watching it. “The Exorcist: Believer” marks the 6th movie in the franchise. I highly recommend the first film, and you can skip the others. However, “Exorcist III” is notable because it was serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s favorite movie. “The Exorcist: Believer” is a soft reboot that disregards the other sequels and serves as a direct sequel to the first film. Halloween Kills Trailer is out! This film was originally going to be in theaters last year but the pandemic puts it on delay. Now the wait is over! People thought the blood feud between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode(Jamie Lee Curtis) ended but it continues. Halloween Kills will continue were Halloween(2018) left off. Laurie locked Michael Myers in her family’s basement and burned the house. All those flames will be enough to kill him but Firefighters came to the rescue. In the Trailer, Laurie begs them to let the house burn. The firefighters didn’t list because it’s their duty to save lives. Even a knife-wielding serial killer has a life. Is it too early to start thinking about Halloween….2021? That may be the time kids can actually start safely trick-or-treating again, but it will also be the month Universal releases Halloween Kills, the second movie of the planned “Laurie Strode as a senior citizen badass” trilogy. And despite that release being so far away, we received the first teaser trailer this morning. It starts where the 2018 Halloween left off, with Mike Myers trapped inside a burning building. Come on, flames, finish him off, Laurie hopes! But then fire trucks arrive and start hooking up their hoses. “NO,” Laurie screams, “YOU CAN LET THIS ONE BURN — REALLY, THIS IS THE ONE EXCEPTION!” They don’t listen. Myers survives to kill again! The Halloween franchise has been through more sequels, reboots and retools than any other slasher series, but with 2018’s simply-titled Halloween, everything was ignored save for the first movie. In this version, Laurie Strode never encountered Michael Myers again (and they weren’t related either) but the trauma of the event drove her to bulk up and train, preparing for the day when he might one day escape prison and come for her again. They did meet once more, Laurie defeated him, and thus ended the Halloween story forever. Ha! Everybody knows Mike Myers DOESN’T die, no matter what reality it is. John Carpenter confirmed this today at SDCC by announcing TWO additional sequels to the 2018 film. Halloween Kills will be out October 16, 2020, while Halloween Ends will follow it one year later on October 15, 2021.
