If you were watching the Super Bowl last night, you DIDN’T see the new trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. You saw a snip of it, but were instructed to go online for the full thing. Super Bowl ads cost money, and this year Disney decided to blow most of it on a self-congratulatory “Happy 100th Birthday” montage.

I don’t know who decided December 1 was going to be a mini D23, but we’re getting new Disney Studio trailers left and right and can barely keep up. The latest, released mere minutes ago, is this never-before-seen first look at Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, the long-anticipated, long-demanded conclusion to the GotG trilogy, as well as probably the last thing James Gunn will do for Marvel.

James Gunn is doing what few have ever done in superhero films, get to direct numerous films of the same series/same characters. He brought Guardians of the Galaxy to the world at large, and his style made them one of the standout films of the entire MCU lineup, and with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, he had the biggest sequel film (not named Avengers) among the MCU. Now, with GOTG Vol.3 confirmed, he’s working hard to make sure it’s just as good as the original two films.
