Most elderly people in my family look down on gaming because it’s something they don’t understand. It wasn’t part of their childhood. You can also add those baby boomer politicians who demonized games for school violence despite much research that proved it doesn’t. I can see Millenials and zoomers not outgrowing gaming when they grow old. I am so close to becoming middle-aged but I still play video games. Well, these grandmas became accepting of gaming and saw it as a hobby worthy of their time. As a person with parents allergic to technology, I can’t help but be jealous of their grandkids. When Adam and Brady Sadler placed their new Walking Dead RPG tabletop game on Kickstarter, they expected the license to buy them some extra support, but it’s gone beyond what anyone expected. The funding goal was $250,000, and it wound up with $433,644 (and it may get more; late pledges are currently being accepted).

Around the time of release for last year’s Arkham Knight, the concluding chapter in Rocksteady’s Batman game series, word began to spread that work was underway to give their first two entries in the series a HD upgrade for the current console generation. Confirmation of this release has arrived with the announcement of Batman: Return to Arkham, a set containing HD upgrades of both Asylum and City with the addition of all DLC that was released for both titles.

Phoenix Online Publishing and Overflow Games have released a demo for their new fantasy RPG title Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim, set to be released on PC, Mac and Linux from 26th April. The game will combine mechanics such as crafting, combat and puzzle solving in a plot which sees young viking Tyrim set out on an epic quest to rescue the men of his village.
