Witcher 3 GOTY Saves Can’t Transfer
The Witcher 3 studio CD Projekt Red have revealed that players won’t be able to transfer their save games from the vanilla version of the game into the new Game of the Year edition that is set to launch later this month. Speaking on the official forums for The Witcher, community coordinator Marcin Momot explained exactly why saves cannot be transferred over between the two versions of the game. According to the developer, the problem lies in the way that Microsoft and Sony treat the separate games on their consoles rather than anything that CD Projekt Red have done. While this means that players cannot transfer their progress, they will get a chance to unlock a whole new set of achievements and trophies. “The save files on consoles won’t be compatible between different game versions (GOTY vs regular version) as they are treated by systems as separate products. This is something that’s not up to us. Sorry.” The Witcher 3 first launched on May 19, 2015 and has since gone
