Battleverse Champions Arena Brawler Coming to Mobile

New free-to-play 1v1 arena brawler, Battleverse Champions is coming soon to tablets and smartphones. Players will be able to battle for fame and glory in head-to-head MOBA-style combat that rewards wits and skill in a competitive gaming experience from mobile gaming studio, Tenacious Entertainment. Battleverse Champions is set in an age where society settles their differences in the arena. Players may choose a space gladiator and five abilities. They’ll be able to personalize their character, and then those abilities to attempt to outplay their opponents with their unique playstyles and combos. Battleverse Champions will have ranked and casual play, as well as ways to commemorate their wins. Players can practice with quick, unranked matches, play casually against AI or friends. They can also ascend the rank ladder in head-to-head tournaments. As they advance, players will be able to unlock new maps, champions, abilities, and more. Call of Duty Warzone has launched and is now available for download on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Inspired by Modern Warfare, the Free-to-Play Battle Royale game will allow players to fight with up to 150 other players. Warzone takes place in a massive combat arena, set in the city of Verdansk. All fighting takes place across two distinct epic modes of play, Battle Royale and Plunder. The goal of Battle Royale is to be the last squad standing. Your team composition will consist of three at launch. In Call of Duty Warzone’s Battle Royale mode, redeployment Mechanics will include self-revive kits, which can be bought with in-match currency. They can also be looted. Squad Buybacks will let you buy a teammate’s redeployment from Buy Stations or The Gulag. The Gulag is a 1v1 deathmatch which can only occur after the first elimination. It is a free-to-play first-person shooter that is enjoyed by 80 million players worldwide. The long running MMO EVE Online is set to launch a free-to-play model in November as it attempts to remain popular in a hugely saturated market. The change in operation, which comes after 13 years of continuous service, will come in effect later in the year when the Clone States expansion releases to the public. Unlike the way it currently works, the free-to-play model will see players able to enter the game world in full with a specific set of limitations. Ubisoft has announced that it is going to take several of its free-to-play titles, including the Tom Clancy game Ghost Recon Phantoms.  According to a statement from the company, the closures are due to the fact that the games were simply not as successful as they had initially hoped, making them unprofitable to keep online. Players will still be able to access the games and buy items with any currency they have already purchased, though they will not be able to spend any more money in the online stores to get additional items. A FAQ from Ubisoft also makes clear that players will not be given any refunds and will have to spend in-game currency within 60 days of today’s announcement before they are lost forever. Ghost Recon Phantoms will shut down on December 1 while The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will have its plug pulled on October 25.

After making much of their upcoming game Battlecry at E3, Bethesda has been unusually quiet about the title in recent weeks and it has failed to show up at a number of difference expos and conferences. It turns out that this is because the publisher is currently re-evaluating the game to see if it will meet its expectations and that the company is actually considering cancelling the game altogether. In a statement given to Progress Bar, the publisher revealed that it was currently discussing options. “We have concerns about the Battlecry game and whether it is meeting the objectives we have for it,” said the statement. “We are evaluating what improvements the game needs to meet our quality standards. The studio remains busy during this process on multiple projects.” Battlecry was first announced in 2014 and is the product of BattleCry Studios, a developer set up by ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda. The Xbox One version of Happy Wars has been released onto the Xbox One Store by mistake, with those who played it now unable to go back to the original game on the Xbox 360. Developer Toylogic has since apologized for the error and explained that they will release a title update as soon as possible to fix the problem. In a statement on the developer’s official Facebook page they revealed that a development build of the game had accidentally been made public and that players should avoid downloading and playing it. Microsoft has today revealed that the upcoming game Fable Legends will use a free-to-play model rather than a more traditional pricing structure in both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions. Microtransactions will allow players to unlock hero characters and creatures to be used by the villains permanently. Otherwise, the available heroes and creatures will rotate every two weeks, leaving users unable to simply pick the same hero. The game will though allow the purchase of these items with in-game currency as well as real world money, although they have yet to reveal how much they will cost in either form. The two-week seasons will operate as a way to tell the overall story of the game as new content will be released episodically in a similar way to releases by Telltale Game. Microsoft hopes this will allow Fable Legends to be supported for up to 10 years, with new quests, characters and items added over time.
