Flash has had a very interesting season so far, and not always in the good way. But one of the definite best things was that Caitlin Snow had become a metahuman via the Flashpoint event. And she’s been struggling to keep her powers at bay ever since. In the last episode of Flash, Killer Frost was unleashed, and it’s clear this time it won’t be as easy to contain her. We say this because the synopsis for an upcoming episode of Flash called “I Know Who You Are” has been revealed, and it appears that Team Flash will have to try and stop Caitlin from killing someone they need to talk to. “Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team meet Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek), a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. On tonight’s Flash, Barry Allen will once again go into the Speed Force, much like he did last season in “The Runaway Dinosaur”, however, as star Grant Gustin reveals, it won’t be as “touching” a reunion. “The Speed Force takes a little bit more of an aggressive approach with Barry just because of choices that have been made since the end of season 2 leading up to where we’re at now,” Gustin said to Entertainment Weekly. “They use different characters that will get under Barry’s skin in a different way, but also they’re just not quite as understanding anymore because of how many decisions Barry has made that have affected time and affected the timeline. The DC TV universe is a very unique universe in that it resembles the multiverse described in the DC Comics books quite well. We’ve seen a world of Batman before he was ever the Dark Knight, and on the CW shows, we have alternate Earths that interact all the time. In Flash alone, we’ve been to Earth One, Earth-2, and has a character from Earth-27 in HG Wells. But also, we have Supergirl, who is from Earth-19. By the laws of the Multiverse theory, there are incarnations of every DC Comics character on all these Earths. Yet, we haven’t seen any of the Arrow/Flash characters appear in Supergirl. Last year, DC Comics and the CW did something unprecedented, they combined their 4 superhero shows into one event called “Invasion”. This featured the characters of Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. However, many noted that the crossover felt light in the Supergirl area. For she kickstarted the event in the literal last minute of her show, and then was barely used the rest of the time. When asked about this at Q&A (covered by IGN), executive producer Andrew Kreisberg noted that the real reason for this was that timing was against them. Not only were they making their own shows and the crossover, they didn’t know when they started the seasons that Supergirl was coming to the CW: “We weren’t aware that we were going to switch Supergirl from CBS to CW, and it was really going to be part of [the crossover],” he said, going on to note that “because the [crossover] starts on Supergirl, Melissa [Benoist] ended up being heavily in Flash and then in Arrow.

Legends of Tomorrow has not been afraid to embrace both history, and the Arrowverse of shows when it comes to special guest stars. Though Supergirl started out on CBS, in their attempt to bring the superhero genre to the big networks, it was proven to be a part of the Arrowverse via a fun episode long crossover with The Flash. It was announced last year that the two would have another crossover, but in musical format. This left many wondering how this would happen, and now we have our answer: The Music Meister. For those who are unaware, the Music Meister was a villain created for the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold. More specifically, he was created for a musical episode of that show. Basically, his powers are that his voice can reach such a pitch that he can hypnotize any that hears it, and get them to do whatever he wants. Last night, the DC TV crossover “Invasion!” ended. It was the first of its kind in many ways, and while not flawless, it did show off all the shows in a good way. The problem with superhero movies at times is that they often have to do an origin story with the characters to get the audience, both new and familiar, ready for what’s to come with both the main plot, as well as potential sequels.
