It’s doubtful any of the kids playing Five Nights At Freddy’s today have any point of reference for what the game is based on. Pizza parlors with animatronic characters singing ancient radio hits used to be everywhere, but they’ve gradually been scaled back over the decades — Chuck E Cheese no longer has an actual robot Chuck E. The closest Generation Alpha can get to that experience is a video game where the animatronics come to life after dark and stalk you.
Five Nights at Freddy’s, or FNAF, is the next video game to get a live-action movie treatment. This game became viral on video streaming sites because of its dark story and Jump Scares. Almost every Gaming Channels on YouTube and Twitch are on a streaming frenzy for this game. This Game Franchise is so successful that most of Matpat’s Game Theory Episodes are about FNAF. The success of the first game leads to 8 sequels and some spin-offs. The movie will follow the Premise of the first game. It is about a security Guard who takes a midnight shift job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It is a place similar to 90s Chuck E. Cheese, where animatronics sing to entertain children. Jason Blum, the mastermind behind movies such as “M3GAN,” “Freaky,” and “The Black Phone,” produces it.
Five Nights At Freddy’s is a pretty good modern-day example of how the industry can be slow to react to trends. When the original game first premiered on Steam and blew up sales charts, every merchandiser was skeptical: “Why would kids want T-shirts and figurines of characters so ugly?” A while later, the series was on its fourth installment, its star was fading, and mountains of Freddys merchandise suddenly flooded GameStops nationwide, where they sat.

Remember when Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights At Freddy’s and all of its sequels, announced his series would end with Five Nights At Freddy’s 4, and that the game would release on Halloween? All of that was true, except for the Halloween part.
So everyone was wondering if Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 would be the final game in the series, creating a trilogy. Nope. There’s not much willingness to stick to trilogies these days anyway.
