Although the original plan for Final Fantasy XV was for the developer to release three large DLC packs over the course of 2018, most of the extra content might not make it to gamers this year.
Speaking in an interview with 4Gamer, Square Enix employee and the director behind the title, Hajime Tabata, explained that the team were focusing on creating meaningful and enjoyable DLC rather than trying to rush it out. This is especially important considering how the game wasn’t as well received y fans as the company had expected.
“There is one thing I need to let everyone know, and that is perhaps it won’t all be out only this year Instead of fussing over ‘during 2018,’ it’s necessary to ensure a reasonable development period. We’ve decided to make four episodes through 2019.”
