When Disney bought LucasFilm to get their hands on the Star Wars franchise, it became obviously clear that they were doing this because they wanted to create further movies. After all, they were unlikely to recoup that $4 billion by just working with the existing material and property. To make money they would have to set about creating a whole new series of films and licensed products that would entrance fans and make them flock to the cinema.
Marina Sirtis is best known for playing Counselor Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but she’s also done work outside of that franchise, contributing small yet memorable roles to several Cannon films, including The Wicked Lady and Death Wish 3, and doing voice-over work for the classic 90s cartoon Gargoyles. Ms. Sirtis is a very busy woman, but she was gracious enough to answer some e-mail questions I had for her. Let’s do a quick Flashback with Marina Sirtis.
According to The Information, Activision is currently working on a plan to launch its own movie studio to create hit films based on its biggest brands. The site claims that sources within the publisher have confirmed that the initial plans are still in the early stages but it is something executives are seriously looking at.
