You no doubt already know that Epic Games gives away one free game per day throughout December, as they did last year. Christmas is the day they usually reserve for their biggest drop…last year it was the new Tomb Raider trilogy; this year it was Death Stranding. Epic also accidentally gave away the Director’s Cut version of the game by mistake, but only for the first hour it was up. It pays to be alert!
Epic has Fortnite cash to burn, and it isn’t afraid to throw it around to make its Epic Games Store a serious competitor to Steam. They’re using that cash to do something Steam won’t — give away free games, and not the throwaway kind.
Flying Wild Hog’s Cracow Studio and publisher Jagex Partners are working on an action RPG called Space Punks. Visually, it feels very inspired by the Borderlands series, and both looting and shooting are key components in the gameplay…but unlike Borderlands, much of it takes place from an overhead perspective. If you’d like to be one of the first to try the game out, now’s your chance…it just launched an Early Access version on the Epic Games Store.
As far as games with post-apocalyptic premises go, Before We Leave is one of the sunnier depictions out there. Civilization has been wiped out thanks to a cosmic disaster, and it’s your job to rebuild it one step at a time. Build up towns, manage their resources evenly, and you might unearth ancient technology that can help your society leap forward. Once you cities are thriving, expand to other planets and build colonies there.
One month from now, we will know what Rogue Legacy 2 is like…an early version of it, at least. The first trailer appeared online today.
Samurai Shodown, SNK’s celebrated fighting franchise, was reborn last year with a self-titled new edition on consoles. PC gamers have been demanding it ever since, and today their wishes were granted (except for the ones who wanted it on Steam).
The Cycle is a free-to-play, match-based first person shooter with a focus on PvEvP. It’s currently in Early Access form on the Epic Games Store, and it’s just introduced its second season of content.

These days it takes a lot for a game to stand out visually, but William Chyr Studio’s Manifold Garden manages to pull it off. It’s a spacious puzzle game where you’re wandering an Escher-like world of staircases and platforms in first-person. This world was once filled with plant life, but it’s fallen on bad times. Your main task as you explore is to reroute the flow of nutrients and revitalize the vast garden.
It was inevitable that John Wick would get a video game…the only mystery is why it took this long. Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer Bithell Games (Volume, Thomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular) have teamed up to bring the movies’ world to life in John Wick Hex.
