Xbox One players will be able to live stream their games direct to Twitch TV. The announcement was made at the Microsoft press conference at E3 which showed Microsoft employees live streaming their game of Killer Instinct direct to Twitch TV. The stream was started by a simple voice command that was picked up by Kinect. Kinect will also pick up your voice so you can commentate on your live stream with no extra hardware. Twitch is one of the biggest gaming dedicated live streaming services so a partnership with Microsoft is a big advantage for Xbox One players. Microsoft also announced Upload Studio which allows users to upload gameplay footage they have recorded to the Xbox Live Cloud. These videos can be edited, personalised and commentated over using Kinect. Video can then be shared with Xbox Live friends and the greater community. This functionality can be seen as a direct answer to Sony’s content sharing services that were shown off at the PS4 announcement. We will see what answers

Today at the Microsoft press conference WarGaming have announced that their massively successful game World of Tanks is coming to Xbox 360. The game will be available sometime this summer and will be Free to Play much like its PC counterpart. Little information was given about the game but we did get a trailer, which I will be sure to add to the story when it becomes available. The trailer showed some gameplay that was unusually fast paced which either suggests that the game may be slightly different on Xbox 360 or they were just trying to make it look interesting. One assumes that the game will feature Micro transactions on Xbox 360 much like on PC and with WarGaming’s new stance on Pay to Win systems one can hope the game will be offer a much more level playing field for Xbox 360 players than on PC. *UPDATE* And here is the trailer i mentioned earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyVb4WPTuQ0 We can expect to hear more details of World of Tanks on

Yesterday, we posted a snippet of a leaked trailer from Ubisoft Montreal’s forthcoming stealth-based action-adventure Watch Dogs, releasing on current and next generation consoles and PC later this year. We are now pleased to bring you said trailer in full, entitled ‘Exposed’. For the uninformed: Watch Dogs puts players in the shoes of anti-hero Aiden Pearce, a skilled hacker who can manipulate technology and devices tied to Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS). Not much is currently known about the game’s plot, but Pearce can use his ‘gift’ to retrieve bank data and steal funds, trigger malfunctions in equipment to distract other characters, and hack traffic lights to cause collisions. Pearce can also receive information on civilians via augmented reality feeds, providing the player with information on demographics, health and potential behaviour of the city’s inhabitants. It’s shaping up to be one heck of a game. Trailer time…
Microsoft understands that achievements are a major highlight of their service, which is why they have hinted at offering gamers even more gamerpoints for watching shows, movies and even advertisements. But offering such achievements would only dilute and possibly destroy the impact that it has on their customer base. The one aspect keeping Xbox users from switching over to the PlayStation is the loss of their identity. Aside from factors such as friends and exclusive games, Xbox users do not want to lose their gamerscore which represents seniority and self-worth within their gaming community. This achievement system may seem menial to the average person, but it truly stimulates the reward system within the brains of Xbox users. Achievements prove that you have been to hell and back in a game and survived to tell the tale. If Sony wants to transition loyal Xbox customers over to the PlayStation, then they need to start targeting this feeling of accomplishment and identity. In order to win the console war once and for
Shortly after new games are announced, publishing companies tend to release an announcement or reveal trailer showcasing their upcoming product. Even though said trailer may look polished and beautiful, it does not necessarily reflect the content quality of the product. Gamers love to get hyped up over a new game, but if the video that they are viewing is not representative of actual gameplay then what exactly do they gain from this type of media?
This year’s E3 is bound to be the biggest one yet with both Sony and Microsoft preparing for a full out console war. Microsoft recently revealed that they would be holding a May 21st conference for their next Xbox reveal followed by another conference at this year’s E3. Sony will be following it, with both conferences happening the same exact days. So far the following times have been confirmed: Microsoft Monday June 10th @ 9:30AM PT Ubisoft Monday, June 10th @ 1PM PT EA Monday, June 10th @ 3PM PT Sony Monday June 10th @ 6PM PT If you’re wondering where Nintendo is, sadly they won’t be appearing at this year’s E3 with a big conference as many had hoped for.
