Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time Launches November 12

We’ve got a solid release date for the Doctor’s VR adventure. Originally dated for release last September, Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time will now launch November 12. You are the Doctor, armed with a sonic screwdriver, and you’ll encounter Whovian monsters both classic and brand-new, including Daleks and Weeping Angels (good thing VR headsets can’t detect when you blink yet). At one point you will even get to climb inside a Dalek shell and utilize its deadly weaponry…..see how THEY like it. Who will you be playing as? Obviously you’re intended to be the Fourteenth Doctor, and Jodie Whittaker regenerated into you, right? That’s not quite it. The Doctor they’re using for this game is the current Doctor, which means you’ll have to be a woman, even if you aren’t. Whittaker stars in the game, with her own voice reacting to the events around you. The Monsters Of Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time

Developer Maze Theory revealed their upcoming Doctor Who-themed VR game, The Edge Of Time, last month at E3. Now they’ve brought us a more in-depth look at the game….specifically, the creatures you’ll be running into while playing it. The embedded video is part one of five…if they don’t auto-play, use the navigation tool to see them all. The Weeping Angels (video 1) are most suited to a VR game, as their mechanic would be the most terrifying in first-person view. Their appearance as stone statues is only an illusion. They can only move and attack you when your eyes are closed, so…blinking can be a problem. They’re fast! The Daleks (video 2) are some of the deadliest beings in the universe. Devoted to destruction and protected by an impenetrable robotic shell, you don’t want to come across any. …You’ll be coming across a lot of them. You’ll even meet some monsters you’ve never heard of before! Hydroks (video 3) are new and invented just for the game. According to Maze
