Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Hits Digital & Disc Soon
For as much praise as Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness got for Sam Raimi’s directing and such, its existence still leaves a bad taste in my mouth for the complete derailment of the Scarlet Witch character. Wanda is not supposed to be evil, and the comics don’t usually treat her as such, though they usually go for the sexist trope of her powers driving her into insanity and doing self-destructive things. Raimi decided to take the worst interpretation of Wanda possible, ruining over a decade of character development for the sake of shock.

A Short But Sweet New Doctor Strange 2 Trailer
At this point, Disney has released several trailers for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, so you might think this latest one (which is only a minute long) doesn’t have much you haven’t already seen before….you’d kinda be right. There is some new information here, but not the kind that’s readily apparent.

Here’s The Doctor Strange 2 Super Bowl Trailer
NBC managed to squeeze the Superb Owl in between Olympics events yesterday, and it was packed with trailers…one of the most anticipated being the one for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Practically everything in the MCU lately has been building toward the subject of this movie — WandaVision, What If and Loki all laid the foundation for the multiverse to take shape, and now Stephen Strange has to deal with it.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Check Out The Teaser
If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: No Way Home yet (and if not, you should really get on that), the post-credit sequence is different than what we typically get. Instead of a follow-up scene for any of the characters in the movie we just saw, it’s a mini-trailer for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. As of today, you don’t have to wait through all those names to see it: the full teaser trailer — a longer cut of it — has been uploaded by Disney themselves.

Marvel Studios’ Big Fat Loud Trailer Reveals Release Slate Through 2023
Marvel Studios revealed its release plans for the next three years today, and went beyond just the usual conference call or press release…they sent out a three-minute trailer, scored by the familiar opening theme, full of classic clips from movies past (including an audience reaction video) and narrated by a Stan Lee recording. The whole production is intended as one big, giant “WELCOME BACK TO THE THEATERS” sign. (You got the vaccine, right?)

Doctor Strange Film Writer Has Ideas For Sequel
The plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Infinity War are a bit murky. We know that Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 (whatever it’s called) is going to be the first out. But what comes after that? That’s the mystery. Another mystery is that certain films you’d expect to get a sequel, haven’t gotten the greenlight. Including, Doctor Strange. The first film did very well when it came to theaters in 2016, and yet, no second film has been acknowledged. Even Benedict Cumberbatch isn’t sure if it’s coming.

Is There Really No Current Plans For A Doctor Strange Sequel?
Movies are a funny thing. Sometimes when a hit move comes, a sequel is obvious. And yet, sequels can take a long time to happen (just look at Wreck-It Ralph 2). Other times, they get rushed into production so that they can happen as soon as possible. And then, there are films that deserve sequels, and we’re still waiting on announcements for them. The Marvel Cinematic Universe honestly hasn’t had that problem, they’ve always been very vocal about continuing their franchises when they’re successful…so…where’s the Doctor Strange sequel announcement?

Doctor Strange Director Talks Dormammu’s Look
For any comic book film, the biggest challenge is to accurately, or somewhat accurately, depict the characters from the comic pages and put them on the big screen. Now, whether it be Marvel or DC Comics, there is creative license to where they can alter a look to suit the film better. This was the case with Doctor Strange, who showed off the legendary villain Dormammu in a very different way than he’s presented in Marvel Comics. Visual effects supervisor Stephane Ceretti talked to IGN about this, and the decision to go away from what was established:

Rocket and Groot Influenced Dr. Strange
It’s no surprise that 14 films in a singular universe would lead to the various films actually influencing one another. From action scenes, to crossover characters, and more, it’s hard not to draw inspiration from one film and use it in another.

Cumberbatch Was In Doctor Strange Twice
Doctor Strange had a big opening this weekend, getting $85 million dollars at the US box office. A majority of that was no doubt in part thanks to its star Benedict Cumberbatch. However, you might not have known that he played two characters in the film. He played the titular Doctor Stephen Strange, and he played classic Marvel villain Dormammu. At least, he did in the face of the villain. As Director Scott Derrickson revealed to IGN:
