Surprise! One of the most valuable games in the entire Wii U library is now Devil’s Third, a game universally panned by critics and ignored by Nintendo fans. Was it good all along? …..no, not even close. But it does have one quality that makes collectors salivate, and that’s rarity.
For the Wii U, the need to get exclusive third party content has been a struggle, if not near impossible. At best, they would get releases alongside the Xbox One and PS4. At worst, it would release at a much later time after they were released on other platforms. It’s been a very rough ride. Yet with Devil’s Third, a game made by Valhalla Studios, it seemed like no one but Nintendo would want to publish it. It is not unlike what happened with Bayonetta 2.
