Shenmue 3: The Gamescom Trailer

Shenmue 3 is so close, we can feel the punches. The latest trailer from Sega, Ys Net and Deep Silver hit the Net this morning, and they make one thing clear: Ryo’s fists will get a workout. Of course, getting into fist fights is only part of the Shenmue experience. There’s also wandering around, taking on odd jobs, buying useless trinkets from vending machines, and wasting your money at the arcade. We actually got a glimpse at the arcade games that will be available this time. The expected QTE simulator is there, and so is a pachinko machine, but will Sega be slipping in another of their arcade classics? They might just decide those are better off sold separately. Far more people are disappointed by Deep Silver’s decision to accept an Epic Games Store exclusivity deal than in the prospect of not having Hang-On or Space Harrier. Ys Net is working on a refund system so that anyone who absolutely CANNOT play PC games from anyone besides Steam (why, exactly?)

Outward Has Now Launched — See The New Trailer

Outward, a strategy co-op RPG from publisher Deep Silver and developer Nine Dots, has now launched on consoles and Steam. Outward is described as a punishing, uncompromising game, and while it can be played alone, Deep Silver advises that groups will stand a better chance. Anyone can drop in or drop out of the game map at will….sometimes friends, sometimes foes. Foes are more likely. When forming your team, keep in mind: the groups that succeed are those who plan ahead. Magic attacks, poison items and nasty traps are all crucial elements of battle, but none of these things are handed to you….the group has to search the world to find them. Of course you’re gonna run into stronger groups who already have those things. The developer says you should expect failure at first, but eventually you’ll grow stronger and stand a chance out there. Outward is now in development — a strategy RPG from publisher Deep Silver and developer Nine Dots. It’s being advertised as a punishing, uncompromising game, and to succeed you’d better know how to survive. Nine Dots is providing instruction in this task through their Developer’s Diaries, which provide pre-release hints on the game. The third of these videos focuses on combat. This snip of gameplay footage, with commentary, divulges the secrets to beating most foes on the field, even those significantly stronger than your character. Debilitating traps, vicious poison and fierce magic should all be core elements of your fighting strategy, but you won’t be able to do that from the get go. You will need to travel far and wide to unlock skills and magic that will help you in your quest. Once you have that, keep in mind you still need to be careful, analyze your enemy’s weaknesses and plan your steps accordingly. Having a plan B also doesn’t hurt. Shenmue 3 To Be Published By Deep Silver

Shenmue 3 is still deep in development and we haven’t seen much of it beyond a few early screenshots. But we now know how it’s going to get from Japanese studio YsNet to your store. Ryse: Son of Rome Coming To PC In October

Crytek has announced that Ryse: Son of Rome will be coming to PC on October 10. The game will be available both digitally and at retail, with Deep Silver co-publishing the boxed version. In addition, all of the Ryse: Son of Rome DLC that has been released since launch will be included in the PC version. The DLC included will be the The Colosseum Pack, the Mars’ Chosen Pack, the Duel of Fates Pack, and the Morituri Pack. Finally, PC players will also have instant access to the Ruins multiplayer map and the “Legionnaire’s Trust” sword initially released as part of a special edition of the game. Metro Redux Release Date Announced

Deep Silver has announced that Metro Redux will be released on August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The boxed copy of Metro Redux contains remastered versions of both Metro 2033, which came out in 2010, and Metro: Last Light, which came out last year in May, with all previously released add-on content. Both campaigns can be tackled in ‘Spartan’ or ‘Survival’ play styles, and the legendary Ranger Mode is also included in both games. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux are also available separately as digital download only. 4A Games has also confirmed that the PS4 version will run at 1080p, and the Xbox One version will run at 900p, while aiming to have both versions run at 60 frames per second. Metro Games Getting Next Gen Remakes

Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are both to receive remasterings later this year. 4A Games announced in a press release today, the developer revealed that the two games will release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The news follows recent speculation about a number of remakes, including The Last of Us and Halo 2. The Metro games are set in a post-apocalyptic Russia where the only survivors of a Nuclear war were those present in the underground system during the attack. The story was based on the novel of the same name by Dimitry Glukholsky. Rather than simply porting the two games into a higher resolution game publisher Deep Silver spoke about how the studio is adding extra detail and features to both games. Lighting has seen a great improvement along with the standard increase in the quality of visuals. However it is the original game that has been most altered. Australia passes censored version of Saints Row IV, incompatible with other versions

The Australian Classification Board has finally passed a version of Saints Row IV. The censored version had one piece of content cut from the worldwide release and will receive a MA15+ rating.
