Twice a year, the Chiller Theatre convention is held in Parsippany, NJ. I go to both shows, the one in April and the one in October, and I always have fun at every Chiller I go to. I love meeting the stars at the show, and I’ve made a lot of friends in terms of attendees and Chiller staff as well. While the memories are still relatively fresh in my mind, I wanted to do a recap of the October 2022 Chiller Theatre convention.
Hollywood Horrorfest is an international fundraising film festival that “celebrates and keeps alive the spirit of the horror film genre.” The downside is that the “Hollywood” in the title actually means the festival is held there, so if you’re not in the general LA area, you won’t be able to attend.
I was born in 1982, and the big movie of that year was E.T The Extra-Terrestrial. It made an impact on me from the first time I saw it, and it’s a movie I’ve often returned to over the years. One of the talents who stood out in that movie was Dee Wallace, who played Mary, the mother of the family the movie centers around. I’ve been a fan of Ms. Wallace’s for a long time, and on February 7th, I was lucky enough to have the chance to interview her, thanks to the help of Harlan Boll, who set up my 2017 interviews with Rip Taylor and Judy Tenuta.
