Bruce Timm is partially responsible for one of the greatest animated programs of all time, Batman: The Animated Series. The landmark show spawned an entire DC cartoon universe of spinoffs — Superman, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Static Shock, and technically The Zeta Project — but even though the library he left us with is massive, fans have begged Timm to come back and do something with DC superheroes again, anything.
DC FanDome 2020 was such a success, WB is doing it for a second year. The return was announced last April, but it wasn’t revealed just what would be highlighted there. As of today, we know (and with the event less than two months away, it’s about time).
Last year, with no public conventions to show off their creations, Warner Bros and DC decided to embrace the digital alternative with the creation of DC FanDome, a virtual convention with multiple streams of panels starring the cast and crew of current and upcoming DC movies and shows. Looks like it worked out well enough that they’re willing to try it again.
DC conducted the second half of its FanDome event last weekend, and we learned a lot about what Legends of Tomorrow will look like in its upcoming sixth season. Things are going to be different on the Waverider without its captain!
Another day, another convention made virtual, but this time we have to hand it to Warner Bros and DC for going all out. DC FANDOME is one of the most elaborate and extensive virtual cons we’ve seen to date, and will be crammed with a ton of things to see (from home) within its 24-hour running time.
