Ben Affleck is a Perfect Superhero Choice
Having played the role of three DC Comic superheroes, Benjamin Géza Affleck has proven to be the perfect fit for the roles. Born in August 1972, he began his career at age twelve appearing in the PBS educational film The Voyage of the Mimi (1984, 1988). Affleck became active on the screen mainly in Kevin Smith’s films such as Mallrats (1995) and Chasing Amy (1997). However, he remained mainly unnoticed until his co-work with childhood friend, Matt Damon. They both wrote the screenplay, acted, and directed the film, Goodwill Hunting (1999), for which they won the Golden Globe and Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay. In the Spotlight The awards brought much-needed attention to Affleck, who would go on to appear in many films including the disaster film Armageddon (1998), the war drama Pearl Harbor (2001), and the thrillers The Sum of All Fears and Changing Lanes (both 2002).
