Daughter Of Dismay To Make Its Debut At Arrow Video Frightfest
We’ve known for some time that Daughter of Dismay, an ambitious art film by Austrian director James Quinn, is slated for release sometime this year. What we didn’t know was where it will first turn up. Today we got our answer: check out Arrow Video Frightfest, because the short film will have its world premiere screening there. Shorts like Daughter of Dismay are notorious for their low-budget looks, but this one has been filmed entirely in 70MM IMAX photography. There will be regular 35MM and 70MM prints of the movie, but only the truly chosen theaters will get the IMAX version. Why the extravagance? As Quinn tells it, “Daughter of Dismay was always supposed to be a big project, presented in the most epic format it could be presented in.
