The original Psychonauts was one of the best 3D platformers ever made, but it came out during a glut of badly-designed 3D platformers that killed the genre. Time and ports to newer systems have grown its fanbase, however, and that fanbase was more than eager to partially crowdfund a proposed Psychonauts 2 in 2015.
Legrand Legacy, the JRPG from developer SemiSoft, has been fully funded on Kickstarter, with the Indie game getting the £40,000 it needed in order to complete its campaign; it had just three days left in order to reach its goal. The Kickstarter campaign came just two months after the original campaign failed to reach the funding required to be successful, even after SemiSoft offered increased incentives to potential backers.
Here where I live, in Portland, there’s this adult alternative band called The Decemberists. Back in 2009 they created a music video where they were playing some strange make-believe game called The Illimat. The game was mostly a prop concept by illustrator Carson Ellis and not intended to function as a real pasttime. Until now, because it will. The Decemberists have decided to manufacture The Illimat as a real product, and they’re crowdfunding some of the cost.
Kologeon, a dark mystic action adventure set in a procedurally generated realm tormented by demons and spirits, has launched on Steam Greenlight, as well as gotten a Kickstarter campaign. In the game, you are an immortal soul that can traverse dimensions outside of physical bodies, fighting for centuries as you establish permanent monuments to mark your journey.
Transmission, an action adventure game from developer Paper Unicorn, has landed on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight, getting a reveal trailer alongside both campaigns, which you can see below. Describing the plot of the game, Paper Unicorn has said:

Forgotten Myths, an indie but ambitious trading card game created by Anchora Games and developed by Dream Harvesters, has launched its Kickstarter campaign. The game has been around in alpha and beta for a few years now, and although it is still undiscovered by many players, it has continued to grow with its community steadily since its alpha release. Forgotten Myths currently features over 360 cards, and is available to play on Steam (Win, Mac, Linux), iOS, and Android.
