Cliff Bleszinski Almost Left Video Games
Video games are hard work, if you don’t believe that statement, you either haven’t played many video games, or don’t understand the time, effort, and stress that goes into it. Just getting a game off the ground is a labor filled process. Then completing the game, making sure that it’s not riddled with bugs, and getting out for the public to buy? It’s a marathon. Some can’t do that over and over again. One person who almost stopped was Cliff Bleszinski. Yep, he almost stopped video gaming completely after leaving Epic Games in 2012 following the end of Gears of War. He notes why in an interview with Destructoid: “It was a combination of gamers feeling jaded, as well as working with some very talented people who were also very jaded. I could pitch the most amazing idea to anybody back when I was at Epic toward the end, and they’d be like ‘I don’t buy it.’ I don’t mean to slag anyone, but people get jaded in this business.”
