Now that the summer months are out of the way and we are starting to approach the holiday period, developers and publishers are now beginning to push out their big hitting franchises. October is set to see a whole host of AAA titles alongside some smaller games, so there should be plenty to keep you occupied over the coming weeks.
When making a massive title like Civilization, there’s a lot of details and input that has to go into the title to make it a good game. Even then, things fall through the cracks, or unexpected problems occur. The team at Firaxis promise that Civilization VI will not have two of the major problems Civ V had, AI issues, and an “easy path” victory.
Sid Meier’s development team Firaxis has announced that it is working on a brand new game known as Starships. The press release revealing the game describes it as an interstellar strategy game that will release on the PC, Mac and iPad in the coming months. It will tasks players with designing and building starships as they look to expand an empire and explore the galaxy.
Firaxis have released a brand new trailer for Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth that focuses on the gameplay changes they have made to the turn-based strategy game. While Beyond Earth is still part of the Civilization series, it is also a spiritual successor to an earlier Sid Meier game, Alpha Centauri, which originally launched in 1999. It’s not a surprise then that the latest entry does not have as much in common with its Civilization predecessors as players might have initially expected.
