WB’s Batgirl Movie Is Back On With A New Writer
One of the more curious bits of movie superhero news in recent memory is Joss Whedon’s voluntary departure from Warner Bros’ Batgirl movie project, most notably because of Whedon’s admitted reason: “It took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story.” Hey, some people don’t figure that out until the movie is already playing. Joss did have an outline of a story though. According to previous reports, Joss wanted to adapt “The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!”, the 1967 comic debut of the character, for the big screen. In Batgirl’s very first story, she worked as a librarian part-time and in her spare time, suited up to fight the supervillain Killer Moth. But that will probably never happen now. The Batgirl movie itself, though, is still a possibility! WB confirmed today they’re still pursuing the project and have hired on a new writer — Christina Hodson.
