I attended Chiller Theatre in October of 2016 and, as I do every time I attend, met a wide variety of talents, from actors and actresses to musicians and models. One of those talents was an independent filmmaker named James Balsamo. He had a quick wit, sending out jokes and puns at a rapid pace. I knew that he would make for a good interview subject, but we didn’t speak to each other again until October 3rd. My first exposure to Debra Lamb came when I purchased the 1987 movie “Stripped To Kill” on DVD. Ms. Lamb’s dancing stood out, and as I came to know more about her, I became fascinated. She’s a dancer, an actress, an author, and a model, among her many other skills, and I knew she would make for an excellent interview subject, especially with 2017 marking the 30th anniversary of the cult classic “Deathrow Gameshow”. I attended Chiller Theatre in Parsippany, New Jersey for the 4th time in October of 2016, and as with the previous times I attended, I met a lot of wonderful people, both celebrity and convention-goer alike. Falling into the former category is my next interview subject. Holly Fields has been active in the entertainment industry since she was a child, appearing on TV shows like It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and Quantum Leap and in movies like Communion and Wishmaster 2. More recently, she’s developed a second career in voice-over, where she’s active as Cameron Diaz’s vocal match and a starring presence in the Star Wars: The Old Republic computer games. I met Ms. Fields at Chiller and befriended her on Facebook shortly afterward. We spoke on Monday, April 17th, and I hope you all enjoy getting to know this versatile talent. I recently got back from my 4th time attending Chiller Theatre in Parsippany, NJ, one of the most popular pop culture conventions on the East Coast. Every year, I meet wonderful people, whether they’re celebrities or convention-goers like myself. Over the course of the past several years, I’ve learned several things about coming to the show. I feel that these can also apply to any other convention one may attend. With that, I present: Johnny Caps’ Convention Do’s And Don’ts, in no particular order ———– DO get pre-show admission if you’re able to. Whether you’re attending one day of a convention or the whole shooting match, if you purchase pre-show, not only can you get in early, the lines for talents will be substantially shorter. Granted, they may not all be out on the floor at once, but you can have some conversation with the talents you meet. DON’T forget to ask permission. This covers a whole wide array of topics from recording to photography, and I learned this one
