New Video Reveals Cancelled Star Wars Games
A new video by Unseen64 and DIdYouKnowGaming? has revealed that LucasArts cancelled two rather interesting projects several years ago. According to the footage, these included a Star Wars: Rogue Squadron spin-off called Dark Squadron and an unnamed title that would feature Chewbacca as the main protagonist. The never-before-seen project was asset to be an action-adventure game starring the famous Wookiee. It would tell the story of Chewbacca’s history, explaining where he came from and how he began working with his best friend Han Solo. This would see the player taking control of the warrior as he progressed from an important figure on his home planet of Kashyyk to a bounty hunter before finally ending up as a co-pilot on the Millennium Falcon. Unfortunately, the game was ultimately cancelled by George Lucas personally. The director balked at the idea of having Chewbacca as the protagonist in any game and leading a story, despite a publishing committee at LucasArts feeling that the project had plenty of potential.
