Resident Evil Board Game Kickstarter Surpasses A Million Dollars
On October 26, Steamforged Games launched the crowdfunding campaign for an officially licensed Resident Evil board game. We can safely call the product a hit now — it broke the million-dollar barrier yesterday and, with six days remaining in its campaign, could go far higher. The Resident Evil board game is an adaption of the original 1996 survival horror experience. You play as members of STARS who become trapped in a mansion full of zombies and creatures. Solving puzzles and making use of limited resources are the keys to making it out alive, or else you’ll become a (INSERT YOUR NAME HERE) sandwich. Steamforged has done this kind of thing before. They’ve itnroduced tabletop adaptions of popular video games to the market such as Horizon: Zero Dawn and Dark Souls. They’ve also worked with Capcom and Resident Evil before, having already created board game versions of RE 2 and 3. (Weird that they didn’t cover the original game until now.)
