Buffy Reboot Is Actually A Continuation, Says Showrunner
Those of you who feared the Buffy reboot would be resetting the entire community of Sunnydale (and the world beyond) can breathe a bit easier. When creator Joss Whedon announced the reboot was finally a thing during Comic-Con, all he said was that it would be “a new Buffy” who belonged to another race. Perhaps he should have clarified “a new Slayer.” Showrunner Monica Owusu-Breen felt the need to elaborate on Joss’s words, and today she posted this tweet, with a message that was part-poem: For some genre writers it’s Star Wars. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my Star Wars. Before I became a writer, I was a fan. For seven seasons, I watched Buffy Summers grow up, find love, kill that love.
