Gearbox Announce Battleborn The developers behind the Borderlands series have today revealed their first original franchise since Borderlands launched as Gearbox announce Battleborn. Revealed as the cover story for the next issue of Game Informer, Battleborn is described as “a fusion of first-person shooting and loot-grabbing RPG elements in a living comic book art style” which doesn’t sound too far flung from Gearbox’s most popular Borderlands series. According to the reveal post on the Game Informer website, Gearbox is looking to “change your perception of genres” with Battleborn, and there is also a mention of borrowing elements from popular MOBA games like League of Legends or Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). Battleborn will be publisher by 2K Games and will be released for PS4, PC and Xbox One – at present, there’s no release date for the game.
