Sony has announced that Bloodborne has been delayed to March 24, 2015 in North America and March 25 in Europe. Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa stated the delay would allow the team to deliver the best possible final experience. He explained further in a post on the PlayStation blog. “While development continues unabated, we would like our team to deliver the best possible final experience,” he said. “We were gratified by the feedback and data we received from those who participated in our limited Alpha test. The extra production time will also allow us to better integrate these learnings.” Bloodborne was originally scheduled to launch on February 6, 2015. It will now be available in March, exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
Bloodborne Pushed Back From Software’s highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne has been pushed back from its February 2015 release date to the tail end of March 2015, as announced via the PlayStation Blog this morning. From Software cite the reason for the delay as needing time “to deliver the best possible experience”. Information gleaned from the extremely limited Bloodborne Alpha last month and player feedback has been taken on board by From Software – the extra development time should allow the developer to fine tune the game and respond to the concerns and suggestions from players. From Software also notes that new Bloodborne news will be revealed in December, again via the PlayStation Blog, as part of the on-going promotion for the title. Look out for our hands-on of Bloodborne from the EGX demo – in short, I absolutely loved the gameplay and direction that From Software are taking with the new title, the spiritual but indirect sequel to the Souls games. Bloodborne is faster, a little more akin to Devil May

Is Dark Souls The New Benchmark for Gaming? Gaming has always had its benchmark titles; those games that stand out head and shoulders above the rest, those that set the trends other studios work towards or try to best. These seminal titles are considered to be the benchmarks of which other games, and sequels, are judged; particularly within specific genres. Every so often, with increasing rarity in an industry which relies heavily on sequels and franchises, a game comes along and sets a new benchmark. For the best part of the last decade, the Grand Theft Auto series have been those titles, spawning countless clones and rivals to the throne. Prior to GTA3 on the PS2, the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil games had been the standout titles. Thinking even further back, platforming Gods Mario and Sonic were the superstars of countless iterations of their games. During the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation, the generation which is currently coming towards a close, gamers witnessed the rise of the formidable first-person shooter with super heavyweights

E3 is over for another year and it’s given gamers plenty to look forward to for the rest of the year and beyond. As is obligatory following any E3 coverage, here are my Top 5 Games from E3 – this is my personal selection of games that have me the most excited moving forward. Sunset Overdrive I have a love/hate relationship with my XBox One. On one hand I love Titanfall – it refreshed competitive multiplayer gaming for me at a time it was desperately stagnant. On the other hand, there’s a desperate lack of games for the XBox One. The PS4 has a steady flow of indie titles alongside multi platform games that perform better on the PS4 than the XBox One. Sunset Overdrive gives me a great deal of hope though – it looks fast, action-packed, beautifully bright, full of personality and gives me a genuine reason to boot up my XBox One again. The trailer for the game is also very clever and witty. Sunset Overdrive looks great
