Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido are the authors of Blacksad, a graphic novel set in a 50s film-noir world populated by animal characters. Now Blacksad is being turned into a video game, to be released this fall….and developers Microids and Pendulo Studios will be taking us through every step, courtesy of their behind-the-scenes videos. The first of these was released in July. The second was released in September, and the third, which came out today, is more of a gameplay overview. Blacksad is allowed to roam the areas freely to gather clues, though certain regions may be blocked off depending on his progress. The game has a “deduction system” that lets Blacksad combine clues, observations and other things he’s found into possible leads. It’s not all quiet inspection either…Quick Time Events may occur depending on the situation he finds himself in. The fact that Blacksad is a cat will also affect gameplay, as cats have sharper senses than humans do…analyzing situations using your senses of vision, smell and hearing
