Superman And Lois Has A Better Shot At Survival Than We Thought
We were bracing for the third season of Superman And Lois to be the last one. All circumstances seemed to point to it: the network it was on collapsing, the studio that was producing it rebooting, there was a WHOLE lot working against it. Why would it live? But this morning, two things happened: one, James Gunn outlined his future vision for the DCU and carved out a specific space for shows and movies that would now be out of “canon” — calling them Elseworlds after DC’s long-time brand for imaginary stories. Second, Gunn and fellow studio head Peter Safran specifically said Superman And Lois would most likely be one of the shows to survive under such an umbrella. You can’t get more direct than that. “It’s a show everybody likes, so it’s going to keep going for a little bit,” said Gunn. Safran added that “one or two more seasons” could be a good enough run.
