Developer Larian Studios has been quietly working with Wizards of the Coast these past few months, building Baldur’s Gate 3 in secret. Now, for the first time ever, we get to see a bit of the upcoming turn-based RPG as the CGI intro is released.
Yesterday, Larian Studios announced that they will be unveiling the gameplay for Baldur’s Gate 3 at PAX East! For those unaware, it is the third installment in a series of video games based off Dungeons & Dragons. In addition, the game was officially announced at last year’s E3.
Earlier this year, Skybound Games announced a deal with PC game developer Beamdog to port its library of classic D&D-based RPGs to home consoles. Today the fruits of their labor are for sale: Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate ll, Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and Neverwinter Nights. Many of these will be new to console gamers, and if so, they’re in for a treat.
