Developer Artificial Core has announced its open-world top-down MMORPG Corepunk will launch its open beta on PC sometime in 2020. Corepunk has many of the mechanics you expect out of an MMO. You create your main character, choosing from a set of fighting styles that each have their own set of abilities. You level up your character through playing the game, tracking down items and power-ups that will make them stronger. You can also make your own items and trade them with others. Where Corepunk differs from the norm is in its openness. While most MMOs start out in a fairly non-linear fashion, in this one the entire world will be open to you from the beginning. You decide where to go, and you can take on story missions in any order you like.
